The School Guidance and Counseling Test is intended primarily for persons who are completing master’s- level programs for counselors and intend to become counselors in schools. It measures knowledge and skills required of the professional school counselor in relation to those areas that constitute most of the work of the counselor. The content of the test is focused on questions that relate to the following four major categories: counseling and guidance, consulting, coordinating, and professional issues.

My Profession Allows me to be as Creative as Possible ...

Teaching was my profession for 9 years.  I got my BA in Education (math & science) in 2005 from the Lebanese University and I had been working since then as a math teacher for elementary grade levels at one of the private schools in Lebanon. Art and philosophy are my personal interests. An Aspiring artist with a passion for Science and Math; It's my case I guess!
In 2010, the school took part in the British Council connecting classroom programme. This project is designed to help young people learn about global themes and become responsible global citizens, as well as giving them the skills to work in a worldwide economy. It offers school partnerships and accreditation along with professional development courses for educators and a chance for them to share best practice with international counterparts.
I was assigned to be the international coordinator of this project as well as a cluster coordinator for 10 different schools in Lebanon that are taking part in this programme as well. I started my journey with a little combination of fear and frustration, making me wonder will this be the tipping point of starting a new social scholastic communication between two different cultures? Will I be able to succeed as an international and cluster coordinator?

I traveled to the UK twice, once to attend the MENA (Middle East and North Africa Region) Conference that helped me to be better equipped to teach about global issues and develop relevant skills and outlooks in young people; the second time was getting to know our partner school and built a partnership to share some global activities and of course I had a greater understanding of other countries, their cultures and their education systems.
Many questions were in my mind, but I got no answers until I started working with determination, willingness, and excitement to achieve the goal. Now, my students had become more global citizens, and more encouraged to meet new people around the world.

In 2012, my school was accredited to be an International School for 3  years. It got the international school award ISA.  To tell the truth, I never expected this project to open a new door for myself and my future.  But sometimes the best things happen when you least expect them… In 2013, I got rewarded as well! I got a promotion: Principal Academic Assistant! No more classes to teach and no more Math sessions … My work has a different perspective now, the reason why I thought of “it is the time for Masters”!  It was a good opportunity for me, but because I am more into teaching than administrative work, I choose my masters to be in school Counseling, I just want to stay connected to young educators!

I experienced success and it was not an accident!

Thanks all who believed in me!
